Prince Mack, 8, was born with sickle cell disease. The disease causes his red blood cells, which carry oxygen through the body, to take on a sickle or crescent shape as opposed to their typical disk shape.

This leaves Prince with headaches, body aches and an impaired immune system so he often has to take pain medication to make it through a day of school and contracting a common cold could put him in the hospital for days. His doctors have also said that he may not live past his teenage years.

Despite all of this his grandparents who are raising him are trying to give him as normal of a life as possible.
